Is Windows 10 a good investment?
I've been away from XP recently, though it feels a bit risky right now.
Joke aside, do we really understand the security of our operating systems? Windows 10 gives me concerns because Microsoft has changed its approach suddenly—shifting from promoting every product for profit to offering services for everyone. It feels like a big change in priorities. We’re all here together, and that’s the message I heard.
That sounds about right, though it’s only available for a year. It seems similar to how 8.1 was offered to Windows 8 users, possibly as a way to compensate for the weaker versions. However, I’m not too keen on having my own AI analyzing all the files on my drive, so I’ll turn it off.
Was a Windows upgrade ever beneficial? If you’re okay with lots of issues and are comfortable with Microsoft tracking your activities, then it might be worth considering!
I enjoy using Windows 10, though it isn't my main operating system. It's performing well on another PC I own. It's usually best to avoid upgrading your current OS until it's officially launched. My advice is to test Windows 10 on a separate drive or SSD if you're interested. Even if you don't like it, you'll still have your original OS available to switch back to.
For the best upgrade experience, wait until the technical preview of Windows 10 concludes—expected tomorrow with the Insider Preview release. The backend will be robust, while the frontend (GUI) will see improvements. Companies will begin testing official drivers soon, leading to enhanced functionality overall.
I believe it's valuable, many tech YouTubers mention it's not terrible.
