You're thinking about whether to get the Oculus Rift or Samsung Odyssey now, with a powerful setup like your i7 7700K, GTX 1080, and 16GB RAM.

I think it's better to look ahead and see where VR leads, because right now isn't the best moment to invest so much money.

I’m really using my Windows MR quite often, even if I don’t rely on it much. The biggest issue is the need for a lot of storage space to get the most out of it. Looking for a Windows MR headset at a discount offers a budget-friendly option compared to larger brands.

It's unclear what you're asking about. Could you clarify your question?

The Windows version you purchased is called Microsoft Windows. It differs from other operating systems in features, performance, and compatibility.

I rely on just a few because my school has provided one, and unless you're planning to invest a lot of time, it doesn't seem worthwhile.

I'll hold off until a newer Vive model arrives—ideally wireless. Qualcomm has also developed chips for VR, which could lead to better headsets soon. Right now, there aren't many games available for it. I believe it won't be worth the investment for another 2 to 3 years; it feels like a niche novelty at the moment, similar to owning a cotton candy machine.

Lenovo Explorer is essentially the most lightweight option with a clean design (standardization keeps things consistent). The Samsung Odyssey offers a marginally sharper display, though my friend who owns it didn’t find much difference compared to the typical MR screen. These screens are already noticeably higher resolution than standard headsets.
