Last year I purchased a used GTX 1060 with 6GB MSI and it functioned properly for around four months until its drivers stopped responding. Each time I attempted to install the drivers, the computer would display a black screen and restart. In Device Manager, the GPU showed an exclamation mark next to it. A technician visited and also couldn't resolve the issue. Now I'm curious if updating the BIOS could help. I believe it might not be necessary since the GPU was working before, suggesting the problem isn't related to the BIOS. Could a BIOS update be effective in my situation?

On Device Manager, the gpu displayed an exclamation mark next to it.
If you encounter Error Code 43 in Device Manager along with zero(0) and N/A's in GPU-Z, the GPU is no longer functional.
I’m interested in whether a BIOS flash might resolve the issue.
You might attempt a VBIOS update, but don’t assume it’s the complete solution.
There are many discussions online about recovering GPUs, though some cases turn out to be hopeless.

I'm planning to try a vbios flash after seeing a YouTube video about a similar issue where a GPU didn't appear in Device Manager and was completely blank in GPU-Z. I'll reinstall my 1060 and check if it matches the problem described.
