You don't think the CPU is a good investment. A Ryzen would change things. For better performance, add RAM with low latency.

Because you already have enough RAM, upgrading isn't necessary. You might see only a small boost in frames. For a first purchase, consider a faster model. Save your budget on the CPU and GPU instead.

Between 2666 and 3000mhz isn't a major concern but going above 3600+ will improve performance noticeably. I should have mentioned that 3000mhz RAM isn't necessary and a decent speed would be better. I thought the OC wouldn't go beyond 3200MHz.

Thank you for the responses! I'll hold onto my RAM until the CPU gets upgraded. (I'm hoping that comes after DDR 5 is out.)

Increasing from 8gb 3000 to 16gb 3200 didn’t show any clear impact on my experience, so I’d say the benefits of quicker/smarter RAM are probably a bit overstated.
