Undervolting the CPU doesn't harm the processor or motherboard over time. Your approach seems safe and effective, leading to stable performance. No damage expected to your Ryzen 7700 or Asus TUF gaming B650 Plus motherboard.

It won't lead to any harm. People often inquire about this because it functions as intended; the BIOS configurations aren't merely default safety mechanisms. A setting like Stable -30 is beneficial. Experiment with different values such as -25 and -20 to see what works best.

It remains unclear whether it is truly stable or merely seems so. I evaluated stability through testing methods. There is no risk of harm from undervolting beyond a slight reduction in stability.

since paying a lot for hardware and damaging it with software is disappointing, undervolting isn't problematic—it might lead to minor stability problems like stutters or crashes, but it usually isn't necessary unless the processor gets too hot at default settings.

Undervolting can occasionally stop POSTing, while overvolting too much leads to damage. Current CPUs generally safeguard themselves unless you disable OCP with special hardware. I recommend checking any adjustments using cinebench R23. You might end up with reduced performance if you lower PBO2's voltage offset. A voltage limit is likely the cause of throttling, as noted by HWinfo64.

It's unfortunate, but achieving that is quite challenging. Undervolting boosts performance, enabling AM5 CPUs to reach higher clock speeds. You can extract more power from a CPU without increasing temperatures or power consumption, or even reduce it further. It's definitely worth considering for those who want to maximize their setup.

I did this since checking the SOC voltage in BIOS showed it was below 1.25 while my CPU core voltage was 1.328. Some say this core voltage is normal and not dangerous, but others believe it's safe only if it stays under 1.3 volts. I'm still unsure why I set the voltage lower.

I reviewed the content at 7700 and noticed comparable voltage levels in this section.

Yes and no regarding that discussion. Reducing voltage offers benefits but only up to a certain point. It can improve performance slightly by lowering operating temperatures, which helps maintain stability and allows for higher speeds with less power. However, it doesn’t guarantee better results everywhere—it depends heavily on the chip model and cooling conditions. Running hotter generally reduces stability at higher frequencies, so keeping things cooler is key. In short, undervolting works well when it stays stable under load while reducing heat, but expect diminishing returns beyond a certain threshold.

Did you share updates on Facebook as well? I noticed these images today. Undervolting resembles underclocking; once you hit a threshold, computation mistakes can arise, leading to instability. Sometimes errors occur without causing instability, which may result in data loss. Similar to overclocking, thorough testing is essential—try a temporary Windows install or a bootable OS.
