You should have the ability to save the games in Steam after clicking right on them (backing up local copies).

Set up Steam on your laptop, transfer all files from your desktop game HDD folder to the Steam directory, and verify the game folder location matches Steam’s settings. You’re ready to play!

Despite slow internet, how much time would it really take? The speed is listed for download, but upload is much slower. Just picture it for yourself.

Certainly. The most you can do is stay logged in for as long as possible on your laptop.

Your nearby network will send information quicker than your web link. If you're connected directly, the only factor limiting performance is your hard drive's speed, which remains significantly quicker than your internet connection. For instance...I can move games from my computer to my son's machine through local sharing. The speed matches what our HDD can achieve. Local data flow isn't affected by ISP bandwidth.

Local network connection is required, with a cable linking the devices. Simply upload the folder, and it should process within roughly 8 seconds per gigabit.
