Hi everyone,
I'm completely new to overclocking and just starting out with a fresh build. Here are my current details:
CPU - i7-6800k 3.4GHz 6-core
CPU cooler - Corsair H100i v2
Motherboard - MSI x99A Gaming Pro Carbon ATX LGA2011-3
Memory - Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB DDR4-3200
GPU - Asus GeForce GTX 1080 8GB Strix
Power supply - EVGA Supernova 650w
And a Corsair 760T case with some Noctua fans (I’ll swap the H100i stock ones for Noctua as well)
Feel free to adjust any specs if needed. This build is for gaming and occasional video editing/recording. Are these specs suitable for overclocking? I’m looking to optimize my CPU and GPU performance.
Thanks!

Yes but i dont understand why you would want to overclock a already fast system. There is no need IMO

Yes, it would be better to remove the original content and leave it unchanged.

You're asking if it's better to remove the original content and leave it unchanged? Your current setup is top of the line, so why change it when you don't need it? You can always boost performance later. Overclocking is optional—do it only if you want to, but for me, I wouldn't bother if I had that system.

You're asking if it's better to remove the original content and leave it as is? Your high-end PC could handle it, you don't have to stress about it anymore.
