Is this OC suitable for your GTX 1060 3GB?
Hello, I recently viewed some tutorials on OC'ing my GPU.
I managed to match the values in this photo without any crashes using Heaven Benchmark on Ultra.
Temperatures stay at a maximum of 75°C at 80% fan speed.
I haven’t experienced any crashes while playing.
I’ve been using this profile for about two weeks during gaming sessions.
It provides a boost of roughly 10-15fps in Heaven Benchmark and reduces minor frame drops in GTA V.
Is this suitable for the 1060?
I've pushed my 1050Ti to its core voltage limit with maximum power, and everything worked fine—fan ran at full speed, temperatures stayed below 46°C.
Only certain games could be affected by Memory clock settings; for example, World of Tanks was sensitive and I had to reduce the frequency from full 1000+ down to half or less.
The 1000 series is mostly restricted, overheating could cause damage, other issues like failed OC are unlikely.
You can get better OC using the Frequency/Voltage curve editor (three dots to the left of the core clock), and you might see even higher OC with that specific frequency. Try it.
It functions in a specific way. On my 1060 6gb, unlocking the core voltage has been extremely difficult. Trying higher than 2150 MHz on the core clock causes voltage throttling and reduces to around 2119 MHz. This issue is reflected in hwinfo64 as power reliability throttling.
I'm really new to OC'ing and don't have enough knowledge to feel confident adjusting a custom curve on the voltage. If this OC is safe and won't cause any long-term problems, I'm okay with it since it's what I needed to reach my desired performance. Thanks for the information though—I really enjoy learning but just don't want to risk damaging it. Lol.
1000 series GPU's are really locked down, even playing with that voltage would not do anything at all.
I've been trying to overclock my 1050Ti , soo in 6-7h of doing soo I've managed 1973MHz and 4503MHz on memory. And I've done world record on Superposition Benchmark.
(its other one 1530, but I cannot find the image right now).
But sometimes its not good to push the limit of GPU, enjoy the overclock tho
