Is this new system working well? It starts up but then stops being used.
I just upgraded my system from an Asus Prime X570 Pro mobo and a 5600x CPU to an ASRock X870 mobo and a 9600x CPU. I also bought a new power supply unit because the old one didn't work when I used a tester on it. I have tried everything to get it running and staying powered on. Now I have a modular power supply with a label that says "600 watt." It looks like it should go somewhere, but I can't find a place for it. I took everything apart and rebuilt the system twice, making sure all connections were secure and nothing was left in or behind the motherboard. I've tried two different CPU coolers too. Any ideas what could be wrong with my build?
Here is a simple guide to follow: https://forums. If you don't have those specific graphics cards (like an RTX 40 or 50 series), you might not need the power plug for them at all. You should check your main PC details, including what power supply unit you bought and its age. Tell me if it was new, used, or refurbished. If nothing else works, maybe everything in your computer is broken: the processor, motherboard, memory, or even that power source.
It sounds like there is a problem with your wiring somewhere inside. Maybe the screws are touching the case and causing issues. I suggest you don't plug anything into it yet, just stick to the CPU, memory, and power supply. Try using the built-in graphics card instead of the motherboard in the case. Put that on a cardboard box, connect it to your monitor, and turn it on. You should have a power button or maybe some jumper switches on the board. If you don't see one, use a screwdriver or any metal object to tap it and close the circuit so the computer turns on. If it acts exactly like this before, then you might have a bad board or bent CPU pins... ??? Also, check if your power supply is causing the short issue.
It just stops working for a bit and then comes back to life by itself, usually in a couple of seconds.
As I mentioned, this power supply unit is brand new because I tried the old one last time and it broke. I got a Cooler Master MWE 850 v3 PSU, an ASRock x870 pro RS motherboard, a 9600x CPU, two sticks of 16GB KINGBANK DDR5 RAM at 6000MHZ, but the only thing from before is that Radeon RX 7800XT on my XFX Speedster MERC319. It was in this system about five months ago when I finally decided to upgrade everything and now I am stuck.
