Is this my fourth computer experiencing locking-up problems?
Is this my fourth computer experiencing locking-up problems?
So I recently decided to upgrade to a new pc and everyone of them had a issue
TLDR; Trying to figure out what is causing my computer to lock up during gameplay. (only two of the pc I bought have this issue.)
The first computer I bought for $1599.99. I though it was a steal for the price since building this would cost more than $2,000. But the computer had a bad Mobo on arrival. I exchanged it and got another one in a week. But After setting it up and using it for a month. It keep Locking up while playing any game. I would have to hard reset it or it would reset itself and wouldn't leave any clear indication on what was causing it. So I return it.

I now have IBUYPOWER Y40. Only had it for a few days and today it lock up while playing Warcraft and I had to hard reset it. The OS is fully updated and so is the nvidia gpu. It now has a few corrupted OS Files I will need to fix. I haven't had another lock up yet. But will do further stress testing with warcraft and a few other games. But I would like some help trying to figure out if this is a hardware issue. I am tired of exchanging pc and having similar issues.

Why are there now a few corrupted OS files? What actions led to that? Which software, precisely, and please list completely, including any utilities or mods, is installed on these devices that weren’t originally included? What devices are you connecting to these machines? Are you using a UPS battery backup or power strip to connect them to power? It’s unlikely all four systems would share the same issues unless there’s a shared hardware or software component involved, or a specific piece of software you’re running. A problem with your UPS or power strip/surge protector could also be responsible. If it were just the Y40, the answer would be clearer, but since the other three systems differ, it points to something more general.
I have only a Razor mouse and keyboard, two monitors, an Astro A40, and a new surge protector. I believe the damaged OS files are caused by a hard reset after it shut down. There were no previous issues before I performed SFC /SCANNOW after all the updates during setup. I don’t use any mods on Warcraft. The first PC was working out of the box, the second worked for a month before failing, and the third was just a poor choice that didn’t meet my needs. The fourth PC only shut down once after a few days, and it hasn’t happened again—just trying to figure out the problem if it continues.
