My friend upgraded his PC with overclocking in mind. He purchased a 6600k and an ASUS - B150M-PLUS motherboard. The problem is it doesn't appear to support overclocking, and he realized this too late. Can the BIOS be updated to enable overclocking? I recall doing that successfully, but now my 4690k runs at 4.4ghz with the B85M-G43, which can only be overclocked after a BIOS update. Is it possible for him to update the BIOS? Thanks in advance!

No, it isn't overclockable. It needs to be unlocked by Intel or the motherboard maker. That's likely the reason it works with your older board.
