Is this laptop reliable?
Is this laptop reliable?
Hi,
I have some thoughts on the Acer Aspire 7 A715-75G-52AA Intel Core i5 10300H and its R5 5500u model. Many brands offer laptops that aren't ideal for certain problems such as thermal throttling, GPU issues, or poor build quality in parts like hinges and track pads. Based on their performance history, should I consider buying this one over a Dell Inspiron at the same price without a dedicated GPU?
Thanks.
Check if there is a review available for the specific units you're thinking about.
Ultrabookreview or notebook review may reveal such problems.
The videos I discovered mostly came from YouTube channels, not from premium machines like Dell XPS or MacBook Pro. It seems they ended up with a mid to low-end device that was still the best option available. So instead of facing harsh criticism, I’m mainly hearing positive feedback. No worries for the YouTubers—I haven’t even used any high-end laptops myself (I have to be honest, it wouldn’t surprise them).
The main point is, if you’ve always relied on a $200–$300 laptop and then suddenly switch to a mid-range model with better specs and a GPU, you’d just notice the improvement.
I also know there are reviews outside Tomshrdware, but I came here hoping for your 'valuable insights—maybe I trusted or relied too much?!'

Another user might have been influenced by many years of using Yahoo Answers, had a good time then, but it all changed forever. This time it seems to be with Tomshrdware, and all credit goes to that 'titan'.
