Is this an appropriate overclock for your RAM?
Hello,
I've been experimenting with my RAM to boost its speed because I have a Ryzen 5 1600. I'm checking if the voltage you're using is safe for this type of RAM. I have the HX421C14FBK2/16 and a X370 MSI Gaming Plus motherboard. It's currently running at 3066mHz with CL16 latency at 1.36V. Is this a secure long-term overclock, or is this RAM not meant for such adjustments?
Thanks.
Ram is built to be pushed. I own a 16 GB 3600 MHz kit from Corsair Overclocked, upgraded to 4000 at 1.4 V. It functions similarly to CPU overclocking. As long as temperatures stay acceptable and airflow is sufficient, everything should work fine.
