Is this a suitable combination? 5600X
Both the TUF and Tomahawk models offer sufficient VRMs for a 5600X with full load. The current tier recommendations focus mainly on VRM cooling solutions. With a 65-watt CPU, daily usage of 150-200 watts will quickly cause performance issues if the chip overheats. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...p=sharing# A solid comparison is available. I’m unsure about the TUF B550 boards’ RAM configuration—appears to be daisy-chained based on board images, which is ideal for multi-RAM expansion. The Tomahawk uses a daisy-chain design as well.
For the RAM OC, CPU OC and VRM cooling on the B550 Tomahawk would outperform the X570 Asus TUF in your case. I’m aware it’s quite excessive for the 5600X, but it gives you flexibility to add a 5950X later without worrying about compatibility. I’m avoiding expensive, high-end solutions since I don’t want to commit to exotic cooling or become a hardcore overclocker. The aim is to get the best value that can handle the 5950X while fitting my current and future workloads.
