I shared pictures of my graphics card details. I’m unsure if my card is a 590 or 580.
I got mixed up myself.
Some data applies to the 590, some to the 580.
Should I update the BIOS, and if so, would it be better to do that?
I need help deciding which BIOS to download.
I recall that the 590 was merely a clocked-up version of the 580, which explains why there are discrepancies in the information.
I believe the issue might be with an RX 580 that was updated to a 590 BIOS. RX 580 chips are built on 14nm technology, while 590 models use 12nm and feature higher base and boost clock speeds, making them essentially the final version of the RX 480. If it functions properly, keep it as is; if not, consider flashing it back to an RX 580. Always back up the original BIOS before proceeding.

Also, given that the card's details are somewhat vague and it's currently operating at 1240 MHz, it might be wiser not to proceed with any modifications.
However, since some of the card's specifications are even lower than the RX 580, I think the default BIOS for the 580 would be more suitable.
You can observe that no retail model is specified for the 1240MHz base, since the boost clock is what matters most, and your memory clock matches that of older models like the RX570 or China-only RX580 2048SP.
After reviewing it more closely, some of the card's specifications are nearly identical to the RX480! It seems like it has undergone significant changes at the chip level, making it preferable not to alter it.
It's likely the card was used for mining before, so clocks were adjusted by a fixed amount afterward to keep any degraded cards stable without needing to test each one individually. Generally, mining only affects memory and memory controller, not the GPU directly.
If you manage to overclock the card back to its original speeds or higher through software, and confirm it contains the correct MT51J256M32HF chips as expected, the Polaris BIOS editor can be used to modify vBIOS settings to your preference. I strongly advise updating your existing BIOS instead of installing random downloaded versions, as they might not work with the card's specific memory chips and could cause issues.
These vBIOS files shared on TPU are mainly meant for reference—opening them to view values is better than flashing unknown ones, which could lead to failure.
