I linked two computers to my Verizon CR1000A Router using cat6 and cat5e cables. The port indicators sometimes flash and other times stay off, yet the devices remain connected to the internet—whether playing games online, checking emails, or browsing the web.

I'm really confused about what's happening. It seems like both lights (left and right) are either blinking or off, but the internet connection doesn't seem to be affected. I'll check again to see if the lights are too dim to notice when they're solid. Based on my experience, the CR1000A isn't as stable as the G1100. The G1100 (bought from eBay) never failed me, but the CR1000A often disconnects devices or computers when connecting to wifi.

The LEDs perform various functions depending on the time.

I believe this scenario isn't related to the Wi-Fi setup. One of the computers is connected via a CABLE router with a Wi-Fi adapter, while the other lacks any Wi-Fi capability. Neither router communicates with each other. The second computer also doesn't have a Wi-Fi connection.

If you have both Ethernet and Wi-Fi active on a device, when Ethernet stops working, Wi-Fi might still supply network access, possibly explaining the dark LEDs while maintaining connectivity.

Curious about the issue: "WiFi might be giving you network access which could account for the dark LEDs, but the connection."
@Wing901
Try running ping, pathping, and tracert to Google (8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4) when the LEDs are off.
Findings...?

Both lights remain steady. The left lights on all three ports appear light yellow when turned off.

From the referenced User Guide (Page 13):
1.3c/ REaR LIGHTED INDICATORS
LaNWA Ethernet
• Unlit – Shows no Ethernet connection or fades after 5 minutes of inactivity
Left LED
• Solid yellow – Suggests a link below 1 Gbps
• Flash yellow – Shows LAN/WAN activity; traffic flows both ways.
Right LED
• Solid white – Denotes a 1/2.5/5/10 Gbps connection
• Flash white – Also indicates LAN/WAN activity; traffic direction is unrestricted.
Two computers - correct?
How are these devices linked to the router? Which computer connects to which LAN port? Please note any additional network equipment present.
Describe the modem setup with the router.
Draw a simple diagram and share it using imgur (www.imgur.com > green "New post" icon).
Execute "ipconfig /all" on each machine.
Report your findings clearly, marking the source computer.
