I'm just starting with computers, so I bought this SkyTech machine for editing and gaming. Maybe streaming, but not sure if these parts will work with the three things I need. I'm seeking advice and want to learn more. Thanks for the details!

It's generally acceptable, mostly up to the latest generation with a minor discount. As a prebuilt, I'd rate it a 0/10 for upgradeability.

I purchased it a year ago and am now considering an upgrade, but I'm not sure anymore. Also, I realized that 500GB isn't much. (Lol)

Consider what you should do—either update or safely dispose of the PC.

Agreed. This motherboard is essentially outdated electronic scrap, even if brand new. Contrary to Jumballi's comments, you shouldn't worry about upgrading—it contains all standard parts, no exclusive OEM components. However, PcPartpicker suggests a better setup for a slightly higher cost on their homepage "Modest AMD Gaming Build," which would make choosing this ready-made option a bit disappointing.

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HxWp3t
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 ($72.98 @ Amazon)
Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 ($67.98 @ Amazon)
Storage: PNY CS900 500 GB SSD ($59.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB OC ($274.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Fractal Design Focus G Mini MicroATX ($63.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS Gold 550 W (80+ Gold Certified, semi-modular ATX) ($94.00 @ Amazon)
Overall Cost: $808.89 (includes shipping, taxes, and available discounts)

Add the board to the upgrade list—it’s nice because the prebuilt uses components you can purchase separately, avoiding any proprietary issues.

Do you think this prebuilt was a good investment? You're considering upgrading your RAM to 32GB but might settle for 16GB and add external storage instead. Also, what kind of motherboard would you suggest? Thanks!

You have 500GB SSD space. Consider upgrading if you expect higher demands or need more expansion. Otherwise, an external drive may not be necessary unless you require additional capacity.

It depends on the price you paid. $700 seems reasonable, but you might not like what's inside the board.
