I set up my FX 8320 on an Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 board using a 120 mm liquid cooler. I managed to get the highest clock speed of 4.7 GHz at a voltage of 1.45V. Is this a solid overclock, or should I push it even more with perhaps a 360 mm AIO?

It's not just cooling, it's also the voltage. With an old CPU and motherboard, I wouldn't try to push it any harder. The official safe limits for that card were around 1.55 volts. I'd use Amd Overdrive to check how much heat it gets when gaming. If anything is in the high teens or lower voltages, your overclocking isn't really going anywhere.

It's not just that it needs cooling, it also needs voltage right? With an old CPU and motherboard, I wouldn't really go any harder. The safe limits for the FX were around 1.55 volts. When gaming, I use AMD Overdrive to see how much room there is before things get hot. If you're pushing anything in the high teens or even zero voltage, your overclock is pretty much at its limit.

You can probably run your CPU hotter and faster if you get a cooler with more fans, but it is a small price to pay. Spending $150 on extra cooling is usually not worth it because that money could have been used to buy a much stronger processor instead.
