This approach sounds practical and efficient. Buying Windows 8 now gives you a head start before Windows 10 launches later in 2015. Using an USB copy of Windows 10 as a boot drive is a smart way to simplify reinstallation. Just make sure your PC meets the requirements for both OS versions. Good plan!
I’d just observe what Windows 10 delivers, since I don’t like Windows 8.
Some reports suggest Windows 10 may transition to a subscription model.
Microsoft has a gathering in January, I assume they’ll share all consumer-related information. If it’s a subscription model, I’m unsure how I feel. I’ll go with winning 8 unless it turns into an expensive upgrade for winning 10.
If I need to pay another 100€ for win 10, I’ll keep using win 8 until win 11 arrives.
