Keep in mind that the Sandy Bridge CPU should not exceed 70 degrees Celsius when under stress. More recent processors can handle up to 100, while older models cannot.

Not exactly accurate. The Tcase measured 72 but TJmax reached 98°C. A low 80s was a reasonable temperature during operation.
