They need to find a way to boost the CPU's power so it can stand up in the market. Back then there were lots of updates... Perhaps they eliminated Xe for that reason, you guess?

The Xeon D platform refers to a line of high-performance processors developed by Intel, designed for servers and data centers.

We aren't part of the sides. Intel is one of the two makers. Without them, we'll begin using those tactics you don't want to see.

What's up? I use AMD. Check the signs! I think Intel should keep up the competition, maybe they'll come up with something solid. No need to be a fanboy for anyone.

Intel has finally caught up with the next generation PCI-E and now supports DD5, along with 7nm technology. Previously, Atom processors were meant for low-power devices like tablets, relying on their efficiency rather than raw performance. The mention of a 2.6GHz clock speed suggests they’re more than adequate for certain multithreaded tasks, though not ideal for high-end mobile use. It’s unlikely someone would prioritize this in their smartphones.

the main idea that comes to mind is intel attempting to mimic AMD, aiming for a massive number of cores but with each one being relatively weak. I don't think it would work well unless intel finds a clever way to combine the cores and show them to the OS as one unit. In that case, the CPU might distribute threads among the cores as they become busy. I still believe there are major technical challenges, but if power efficiency drops sharply with higher frequencies, very few high-performance cores could be quite efficient.

My setup is Intel, but does that indicate I favor anti-consumer tactics? Would I accept that my 7th generation works just like a 4th generation? Guess it depends.

No, Intel didn't announce a 7nm process release in 2022 as the earliest.
