Is there something strange happening after the BIOS update?
Hey everyone.
I recently updated the BIOS on my system and encountered a strange situation: the machine only boots after two tries. On the first attempt, lights turn on and fans spin, but the display remains dark. Occasionally I hear just one short beep, other times nothing at all. After a hard shutdown, powering it back up works smoothly in Windows.
The more puzzling part is that when I switched back to the BIOS version I was using before, the problem disappeared. Testing other BIOS versions didn’t resolve the issue. I’ve tried the four most recent BIOS updates for my motherboard, but they all caused the same boot problem. Right now I’m sticking with the older, reliable BIOS, but I’m still seeking advice from others who might have faced similar challenges.
Edit: I should note that on the less stable BIOS versions I’ve used, random beep codes appeared during booting—sometimes memory-related, other times timer or parity issues. These seem unpredictable and differ from the consistent codes I see with the stable version.

Do you currently have any original components (CPU, GPU, RAM)? Have you attempted to reset the BIOS back to its default settings following a BIOS update, and then launched Windows?
Nothing changed, just using the standard setup. I haven’t reverted the BIOS yet, so that’s a positive sign—I’ll attempt it again when I’m ready. It should be around Christmas time now. I haven’t interacted with the BIOS much beyond selecting boot options, but I’m hoping everything is fine.

I'm stuck on the update problem. I've been doing geek stuff for a very long time and this is confusing.
I think there are only two options: a faulty motherboard or a faulty CPU.
