I don't believe AM4 is a poor option if you're on a budget. Imagine this: if an older i5 model earned 2 or 3 points on the 9070xt, and a newer AM5 model got 9 or 10 points, then an AM4 would likely score 7 or 8 out of 10. I think you'd be quite satisfied with that compared to what you'd pay for such a system today.

I continue managing an AM4 setup and operate a 4080 Super at 1440p, content with the results and not considering upgrades.
5700x and B550 both offer strong value for the price.
