I'm curious about why so few people seem to play games on laptops compared to desktops. As a college student, I often use my laptop for studying and need its portability, yet I still manage to find time to play games. My setup includes an Acer Aspire V Nitro with a GTX 960m, 4GB DDR5 RAM, an i7-4720HQ processor, and a Samsung 850pro 512GB drive. I'm hoping to hear about other mobile gaming rigs out there!

Gaming laptops aren't the worst option, but many people avoid them because they prefer desktops or devices that look more modern. Personally, I don’t mind a gaming laptop, but others might have different opinions here.

I chose the V Nitro mainly because of its understated look. It has a fairly compact design, and besides the red backlit keyboard, it doesn’t resemble the usual gaming laptops like Asus ROG or MSI. It’s not overly large—around 5.3 pounds, possibly lighter with the SSD installed—but I need a portable setup.

I've heard from someone who used an Asus gaming laptop before. Although the performance was decent, I didn't like its look. I'd prefer a 15.6" "gaming" model with a sleek design.

I have an HP with 8 gigabytes of RAM and an A10-4655M processor... That should let me run GMOD at around 40 frames per second.

Your current laptop has 6GB of RAM and an AMD A6-5200 processor. You're able to run Gmod with many mods loaded smoothly at around 30 frames per second.
