If yes, how do full load (250W) temperature differences look when using two fans?
Thank you for your response. The differences between 5060Ti and 5070 Plus are notable, especially the TGP variation of 180W versus 250W, which is roughly a 40% difference. Maybe @Healer21 would add some insights? I’d appreciate knowing the temperature changes for both GPU and memory under full power compared to idle, and it would be helpful to have fan speed details as well. The room temperature is currently around 29°C, with 35°C on the mainboard when idle without the additional 200W from the GPU, which is a bit worrying.
There isn't a perfect idle temperature setting. Because idle temperature changes significantly depending on the surrounding environment, cooling methods, fan speed, fan capacity, and dust levels. That's why there are no idle temperature charts in component reviews—only under load data is available.

Please note that you will never achieve temperatures lower than the ambient air temperature. PCs rely on external air for cooling, so idle temperatures are irrelevant. The focus should be on under load temperatures, as this shows how well your cooling system performs (balancing noise and target temperature).
In my Skylake build (full specs with pictures in my profile), current idle temperatures are:
- 27.2°C - ambient
- 30°C - CPU (i5-6600K)
- 42.7°C - GPU (GTX 1660 Ti)
- 41°C - MoBo chipset (Z170)
- 49°C - OS drive (970 Evo Plus 2TB)
- 35°C - OS backup drive (960 Evo 500GB)
- 33°C - data drive (870 Evo 2TB)
- 36°C - data backup drive (MX500 1TB)
These numbers won't apply to your setup since you have different ambient conditions, components, and airflow.
In the review, the RTX 5070 temperature difference is up to 35°C. This wouldn't be a big issue because the GPU would stay below 80°C during load.
If you're assembling a mini-ITX system with minimal or no case fans, the GPU (and CPU) can easily reach thermal throttling.
This chart provides useful insights without needing to start from zero. It allows us to estimate the FE from 85W to 275W based on a 39C temperature change. From this data, we can determine thermal characteristics around 0.2C per W. At 250W, we anticipate a 50C increase plus the surrounding ambient temperature—such as the GPU fan room temperature—not the room temperature itself. Therefore, with an ambient of 20C, the GPU would reach 70C at 250W, while someone with 40C ambient would see it hit 90C. These are rough estimates and don’t consider thermal delays. The increase in local ambient due to a hot GPU will also contribute to higher temperatures. This information is sufficient for my needs. Also, the specific graph points to steady fan speeds, though likely not at full capacity. It still serves as a helpful reference.
When I looked up the Zotac 5070 twin edge, it came up with comments about "tank-like build quality, great performance and low temperatures." This matches what was listed on their product page. A quick check revealed the quote was actually from a 5080 review, not the 5070 model.
At the moment, I’m considering switching to a three-fan setup for added confidence, which would cost around USD100 more (USD750+).
I own the Zotac Twin Edge OC, a pretty relaxed card.
Idle temperatures remain between 44c and 49c until the fans kick in at around 50c.
During gaming at full capacity, the temps hover between 63 and 65.
I experimented with undervolting, but it kept staying under 59c when running at 100%.
Overclocking pushed the temps up to 72c.
Fortunately, one of the three fan models was being tested in the shop where I bought the GPU.
The card appeared much larger than expected and had a bracket attached to the back. I didn’t like its appearance.
Also, it reached 72c during full load testing, which was an open case benchmark.
I’m not entirely confident about the temps on this solid card since I only saw one test run.
Don’t worry about temperatures if you have a case with good airflow.
The Twin Edge 5070 pushes air back onto the card, so a cooler facing that way can keep the CPU around 2c to 5c warmer.
If you use a liquid cooler, you’ll be fine—just a bit chilly.

Does start at idle. Since even on idle, GPUs consume power and produce heat. Also, this much is said in the review;
Also, page 41 has the chart, where it shows GPUs to idle between 37C and 40C. Which includes ambient temp.
It doesn't work like that.
Chart you linked, shows most RTX 5070 versions at 250W, between 55C and 63C, while FE is 76C. This is GPU temp where ambient temp is included as well (since GPUs are cooled by ambient air).
If that would be true, then test setup ambient temp would've been 0C (for GPU to reach 50C at 250W). But no-one is going to test GPUs in 0C ambient.
It seems this update performs admirably at a more affordable price compared to alternatives. I initially hesitated with two fan models and ended up getting the Palit gamerpro non OC. Important adjustments were made, like updating VBIOS again and using a non-smart 4 phase VRM controller; it appears the GPU has some leakage issues too. Compared to the OC version with a 300W TGP setting, this one is capped at 250W or lower by about 30%. I missed out on free DOOM, but temperatures are within acceptable ranges. The chart begins at 85W under a custom load, not idle. The ambient temperature isn't local, and it's rarely near that. At 200W, the power dissipation results in around 50°C, which is the junction temperature—not the actual temperature. Although the calculations are somewhat simplified, they suffice for my needs.
