A few hours back my Pandora app on Windows stopped loading new tracks. It shows "buffering" in the lower right corner for a short time until a popup appears asking to reload or fix it. Changing channels sometimes works, but not for channels I just used or tried.

I tried the troubleshooter repeatedly and it keeps suggesting I need to whitelist from an ad blocker. Since I’m paying for the ad-free version, I didn’t realize there’s even a way to whitelist the app directly through the browser’s blocker. This is odd because I can play the browser version without issues, and both my phone and my wife’s phone work just fine.

I restarted the app and PC, cleared the cache, reset the app, deleted and re-downloaded it. I escalated the problem with a case number and an email reply.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue today?

The problem is limited to the desktop application. There are no issues with browsers or Android devices. I should also test on the TV, though the app has consistently performed poorly there.

Search for any system adjustments during buffering events on the desktop application. Initially, examine Task Manager and Resource Monitor to observe shifts in performance indicators while buffering is logged. Start without Pandora active, keep its window visible, and initiate it afterward. Another method involves inspecting Reliability History and Event Viewer. Both tools might record error messages, alerts, or data points that align with the moments of buffering. Additionally, open Process Explorer and monitor activity for a short period without performing other tasks. After keeping the Process Explorer window open, begin Pandora. The goal is to identify any changes or actions triggered at those times. Possibilities include Task Scheduler activation when Pandora launches or an unknown background process starting.

I haven't come across Process Explorer before. What makes it different from the Processes section in Task Manager? Thank you for your advice and patience.

Process Explorer provides a broader range of features and allows for greater customization in how data is displayed. Explore its various tabs and views. The main challenge often lies in the way Process Explorer navigates between processes, which can be confusing when trying to identify issues related to buffering. It may require time to find a suitable presentation or format that reveals what process is active during delays. Sometimes, even if a process appears similar to a known one, it might be mistakenly identified as such, leading to overlooked problems. Once a likely suspect is found and confirmed, further investigation can be conducted. Avoid hastily stopping or deleting processes without understanding their role first.

I received a reply from Pandora support. The problem was on their side and has been fixed. I still appreciate it.
