I simply don't want to wear out my usb ports that quickly and the power button doesn't work I've tested it for like 15 seconds. But, it does go out. It takes like 30 minutes. I couldn't find any other way even after I found out you can update the firmware for it. lol

Why not opt for a brief USB extension cable connecting the controller's wire to your chassis/motherboard? Just to be sure, the USB ports won't degrade from repeated removal and insertion unless you're being overly harsh with the port or device, or if you jostle it horizontally or force a connection in the incorrect orientation (yes, I've encountered all those situations). Check the USB port insertion MTBF for more details.

It's a brand new name for the 9-foot Xbox USB controller.
USB to type C. Just restarted after finishing the game, haha.

Determine if it's a 360 or series s/x controller. If it's the 360 model, you might find this discussion helpful.
Check if it's an S/X model by keeping the power button pressed; this should shut it off.

it's the latest Xbox One model, but they're still from 2016. I turned it off for about 30 seconds and nothing happened. Even after updating the firmware, which I didn't even understand what it was for. lol

It seems you might need to take out the batteries each time and put them back in when necessary, or simply disconnect the cable and press the power button, as there doesn’t appear to be another option for your issue.

I've just been letting it sit. The power seems nearly nonexistent, like a stilling mouse. It might think it's a mouse since in Windows 11 you can access it through menus without any extra programs.
