Are there any programs available that can restrict my access to specific websites for a short period, preventing me from circumventing these limits? I struggle with self-control because I find certain sites particularly tempting.

There are extensions and similar tools that can handle time limits such as StayFocusd, but I haven't encountered any that are unavoidable. I suggest addressing the root cause instead of just the symptoms. If your self-discipline issues are so severe that you need to prevent yourself from accessing certain sites permanently and also ensure you can't reverse the block, it's important to consult a professional for proper guidance.

Many routers include parental control options, and tools like DNS filtering services are available. However, since you already know the password, it becomes easy to alter it. These approaches can also be circumvented using a VPN or modifying DNS settings. Even if a friend set this up so passwords remain secret, almost everything can still be bypassed.

Long ago there was free software called K9 designed for filtering children's internet access on machines that were nearly impossible to breach. It aimed at protecting kids' PCs. I’m not sure if such software is still available, as the company that provided it for free has likely been acquired. It’s also difficult to confirm whether it still functions in Windows 11, since many of its methods are blocked by modern operating systems due to similar techniques hackers might use.

The main issue remains: any software offering this protection offers no defense against someone who knows the password and can adjust the rules.
