Is there any software that can limit folder size?
Imagine you wish to transfer files into a directory until it reaches a specific capacity, like the dimensions of a BD-R (around 23 GB). Or any other requirement. The software would prevent adding beyond that limit. What application could assist with this? It should work regardless of whether the storage is an SSD or HDD.
WinDirStat can display the sizes of several folders, but it cannot enforce size restrictions or alert us when we surpass them.
You might be able to set up a partition with the desired capacity, which would automatically restrict the amount of data stored inside it.
I don't know of any function or script for this. However, setting up a dynamic folder size through code would require significantly more mental effort than simply managing files in folders.
