I've been employing a dongle to link my dual sense controller on my previous PC. After upgrading to a new system, I didn't realize it had built-in Bluetooth and thus relied on the dongle—unknowingly causing problems.
When I removed the dongle to try another device, the controller failed to activate properly; it would connect briefly but then stop responding entirely, giving the impression of lag or malfunction.
Eventually, I disabled the PC's Bluetooth settings by disabling it, which resolved the issue completely. I also attempted a factory reset on my controller and swapped devices, but nothing worked.
Currently, I only have two controllers—one PS5 and one Realtek adapter (solid blue). Anyone else faced similar difficulties? It seems I can't use Bluetooth on my PC without a dongle for the specific device, which is frustrating. I'm aware this might interfere with my new motherboard's functionality, but I need to understand why this happened.
Removing the Dual Sense Controller and restarting the PC caused it to reinstall itself automatically. It appears it was installed elsewhere, though I couldn't locate it in hidden devices.

i've experienced this repeatedly over the years, where Windows stops connecting properly with its Bluetooth features or fails to detect devices despite available options. Each time I had to completely remove the Bluetooth drivers and turn off Bluetooth on the system. After restarting a couple of times, re-enabling it and reinstalling the motherboard drivers resolved the problem. Windows Update often attempts to install drivers from sources other than the manufacturer's, which can sometimes cause these issues.

Not sure why everything is a URL, hehe.
Great photo too – that's my PSN login screen!
Honestly, the wireless headset includes a receiver, and my wireless keyboard and controller have a dongle. I don’t think I’ll need to connect anything else via Bluetooth.
