Hello! Your friend provided you with an old Dell PC, and you're trying to create a backup of the operating system. You've downloaded the Windows USB/DVD tool but haven't found the ISO file yet. Since you don’t have the OS DVD, check your computer’s storage drives—likely the main drive or an external one. Look for the Windows installation media folder, usually labeled as "Windows Media Files" or similar. If you need further guidance, let me know!

On the official site, locate the ISOs on the right panel and click the green "Download Links" button.

The normal version differs from the N version in that it includes additional features or changes, while the N version focuses on core functionality without those enhancements.

The version N lacks Windows Media Player, that's all. I purchased a Standard 8.1 N for $10, which is quite affordable when compared to the retail price of $100.

Windows N lacks a media player built-in. Unless it's mentioned otherwise, it's likely you don't own the N edition, which means you probably won't receive the N install.
