All the details you provided match what we see here. The issue lies in how virtual memory is managed and perceived.

I was about to reply, but my tab froze along with Resource Monitor. Still, it let me close them, so I did and went ahead and shut down. Wait a few minutes, then turned it back on. Now the issue seems resolved?? As I said before, I restarted, shut down, but that didn’t fix it. I’m really confused, but at least the problem is gone...

By stands out,
new programs that increase memory consumption yet fail to free it when closed.
Driver applications exhibiting rising memory use without releasing resources, not just the user interface or actual drivers.
In Windows 11, with Task Manager open
Go to Performance
On the upper right, there are three dots. Click them
Click Performance Monitor

Based on that, I retain the images I captured before it stopped working and can send them along.

Watch the performance monitor and check for rising memory consumption linked to a service, driver, or application. This could signal a problematic program. Search online for "memory leak"

Well. I might just label it as "solved" even though I don't understand the reason behind it.
