Is there a significant memory consumption issue?
Recently, my PC's memory usage has been reaching nearly full capacity, often hitting 93% in Task Manager. There seems to be no typical cause for this issue. A friend who works with computers confirmed it's unusual. I've checked for malware using Windows Defender but found nothing. I also tried restarting the system and then turning it back on without success. Running Mem Reduct didn't significantly improve the situation, only reducing the percentage by a few percentage points. I've heard about the phrase "Unused memory is wasted memory," but this appears to be an extreme case. Anyone have suggestions for resolving this problem?
I would also send an image, though the forums won't accept the gyazo links.
How much physical RAM should be displayed? The Resource Monitor in Task Manager should indicate which processes are consuming the most memory. Start Windows in Safe Mode and examine memory usage details. Some primary issues include a memory leak from a driver or application, as well as malware that may be concealed from standard views and detected by Defender. Received two 2x16GB G.Skill Flare X5 cards (specifically two 1x16) from a Microcenter AMD package. The following screenshot is from Task Manager.
In task manager, performance, memory... the numbers at the bottom display what? A screenshot is needed. Have you made any changes since noticing the memory usage rise? Perhaps uninstall the new programs and test again, then reinstall them. In task manager, turn off any unused applications in the startup section. Currently, I have the following enabled: sound card driver app, antivirus, keyboard driver app, Amd noise suppression, Samsung rapid app. All other items are disabled. Services are another issue. I’m not going to dig into those.
-Can you explain what you're referring to? Do you mean this? (Image)
- Concerning the memory usage growth, the only files I've actually downloaded are from Steam. Looking back, the memory consumption has been gradually increasing until now, and even after restarting, it hasn't improved.
