Hello everyone, I recently bought a powerful dual-core processor called an Xeon E5 2699 v3 and I am thinking about turning it into a computer that runs the internet. What version of Windows should I use for this setup? Which one would be best?

You might be able to run server 2022 standard or even up to 2025, right? I own a Dell r320 with an E5-2470 v2 that runs datacenter software from 2022. Just remember: you have to buy the license based on cores, and since your setup has two CPUs totaling eighteen cores (which is thirty-six in total), you'll need several licenses. Alternatively, you could skip buying a key and get a ninety-day trial by just installing the OS.

Hey thanks for sending me that info, but I saw something new on the site: Windows 11 Pro for Workstations. Is that okay?

What are you trying to get out of this "server"? Windows 11 Pro for Workstations is basically just the Pro version with a few extra bits for powerful CPUs and RAM. It acts exactly like other Win 11 versions for all everyday tasks. I'm actually using it right now, in fact.
