Is there a problem with the motherboard or CPU?
A few weeks ago my computer wouldn't start up.
I performed some tests including removing and replacing the battery on the motherboard, checking the power supply, and testing the cables to the motherboard. The results indicated the issue is likely in the motherboard or the CPU.
Now, I was able to turn the computer on – the power button sent voltage, and the hardware functioned (fans, lights, display, graphics card). However, no output appeared on the screens, and it seems neither the keyboard nor the mouse were receiving power.
Is the problem with the motherboard or the CPU?
Motherboard: Asus B450m-a
Power Supply: Hexa 450
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5
I'm sorry but I don't recall the precise processor model.
Exactly how did you verify the PSU? Did you use a multimeter to check all voltages? Did you link the PSU to another computer and confirm it was functioning? If you simply powered it up by joining the green and black wires, that doesn’t indicate proper operation.
