Hey everyone,
Laptop model:
Dell Latitude 7420
1080p touch display
Intel Iris Xe graphics
Windows 11 24H2
I’m facing an odd problem with my laptop. All drivers are current, and I’m using the newest Intel Graphics Command Center software.
What’s occurring:
There’s a minor flickering or slight color change, mainly on certain dark colors, not all dark tones. It becomes more obvious when an app displays a blur effect in the background.
What I’ve attempted:
Removed drivers with DDU and reinstalled the latest Intel drivers
Used older graphics driver versions as well
Turned off Panel Self Refresh and Display Power Saving Technology
Disabled adaptive brightness
Set my display to HDR only for video streaming, then turned it off
Still no resolution.
This doesn’t seem like a hardware fault (hope it’s not), and I think it might be a software or driver issue. Have others encountered this? Any suggestions on how to identify the problem?

Activate the system and enter the BIOS. Does this action occur there? You may also start the system using a Live Linux distribution from a USB drive. Does this process work with another operating system?

The Bios features a white background/theme, but it only shows up on certain dark backgrounds.

This verifies a hardware problem, so does the system remains covered under warranty?

The warranty has expired.
Perhaps the problem lies with the ribbon cable not being properly seated, which is the only thing I've considered so far.
I'm hoping it isn't an issue with the display itself.

A ribbon cable might play a role here. Has this setup been taken apart previously? And could the issue stem from a faulty screen? Is this a common problem with all connected external displays?

I recently acquired it second-hand from a nearby store. It might have been taken apart before purchase. I don’t know its background. For the external display component, I plan to connect it to an external display to verify.
