Is there a license for SQL?
I am swapping an M/B in my server (using the same model) and wondering if my SQL License follows along or stays with the old hard drive. I hope all the disks move together perfectly. If they don't move on their own, can I give up the old license and get a new one to replace it? I see people selling used Microsoft licenses from broken computers, so there must be a way to do this.
What specific license are you using? Can you tell me which one it is? Do you have to read through my contract to see if they say anything about that?
Two years ago I bought this thing and I don't work there anymore, so I can't tell what the price was. Probably it's just one computer for a tiny office, so it isn't probably a big volume deal.
