Is there a delay in input for online shooters?
Hello, I experience identical mouse input lag across all games I play, except when playing online. In CS:GO, CS:CH, and Valorant, the lag is noticeable during enemy interactions or map actions. Even at 300-500 FPS, the issue persists when I cap the frame rate to 100. I've reinstalled Windows, adjusted settings, updated network adapters, used a Cat8 cable, and switched ISPs without resolving the problem.
What kind of monitor are you using? Currently, fast-paced online shooters demand a screen with quick response time and high refresh rate, especially when competing against highly skilled opponents, as these features are widely available and many users possess them. Additionally, verify that your mouse polling rate is configured at 1000. Often, input lag stems from the display rather than the mouse itself.
I modified several PCs, monitors (currently 240hz Alienware), and mice (current g403 HERO Logitech). It seems the issue isn't hardware-related except possibly the network card. The only improvements came from disabling the onboard NIC and installing an internal PCIE network card, though it's still far from resolved.
I know it's really tough, I haven't been able to fix this for a long time, but here are some possible reasons.
