I wondered whether using the type C port or USB port to charge my phone while gaming would affect CPU or GPU performance, given the power consumption of 15W.

When using just the charger, I believe your performance won't be impacted.

it also depends on the battery level when charging from around 2 to 3 percent; then you'll notice it struggles since most phones reduce power when below 10 percent. otherwise it will draw from the battery while trying to charge. this can lead to increased wear over time, causing faster discharge and more frequent charging as the battery loses its ability.

your performance will vary greatly, and as someone noted, when the chip gets hot from continuous charging and discharging, all chips have thermal protections to prevent damage. once it reaches a thermal limit, it will again reduce power.
