I’m evaluating whether switching to a Ryzen 5000 series would make sense given your current setup. With a Ryzen 7 4750 G Pro and a 6700XT, upgrading to a newer chip could offer noticeable gains, especially if you’re looking for better performance or future-proofing. The B550 with PCIe 4.0 is a solid option, and the jump in speed would likely be measurable in real-world tasks.

The cost might be excessive compared to your goals. Choosing a newer CPU would make the 5800X3D the best value, offering a strong gaming performance boost thanks to its extra cache. Switching from PCI Gen 3 to Gen 4 with your current GPU is essentially negligible, as you're not fully utilizing the existing bandwidth.
