Besides privacy worries, some people dislike the system taking over decisions you once had control over. It feels like even when it doesn’t seem too intrusive at first, it moves the user toward losing autonomy... I remember strange feelings about "MS-linked-Windows pushing for OneDrive setup while Non-linked-Windows seemed more reserved... (I’m not sure if they’re real or not.) My experience is on a custom domain I manage."

That's why the MS account isn't used for regular operations.
If you do need it, sure, it will automatically sync with OneDrive, update settings across devices, and so on...

That's why my "MS account" is seldom used, except in situations such as handling the license or activation. Otherwise, it's not utilized at all.
