My laptop, a Ryzen 5 5600H and an RTX 3050 (75 Watts), is just about a year old now.
I’m curious about thermal throttling—since I keep it on a desk and regularly clean the fans and cooling fins by opening the back panels.
From what I see in HWinfo, my CPU (Tctl/Tdie) stays around 100.4 *C during gaming, while the GPU is at 86 *C. It’s been consistent since the start, with the GPU dropping 1-2 watts when it hits 86 *C but never going below it. My room temperature is about 31 *C, CPU remains steady at 100.4 *C, CPU SoC at 83 *C and running at 27W with 90% usage.
Is this normal behavior for a laptop or not?
