Hi, I just completed my build and noticed the CPU running hotter than expected, even with solid cooling. I’m looking for some advice. CPU specs: 7800x3d, AIO: Liquid Freezer 3 360mm top-mounted exhaust, case: H9 Flow Mobo, Tomahawk B650 fans, Arctic P12 ARGB 120mm exhausts with 3 intake and 3 exhaust ports. Ambient temp is around 23°C. I’ve updated drivers and BIOS to the latest versions, except for EXMP, Memory Context, and Power down settings. Current temps are max 83°C and average 80°C, with a steady 4.8GHz in Cinebench 23. All fans and AIO are at their maximum. Idle temps are about 53°C and 56°C when the browser is open. I’m new to AM5 and this is my first AIO, but everything feels off. Some people say the AIO is too much for this setup, and I’m worried because others report lower temps with less cooling or air coolers. I still have the warranty if something breaks. What do you think?
It's around 500 points during testing, which fits the expected range. The 7800X3D shows some thermal variation, but it's generally stable. Since it's a dense chip, extracting heat is the main challenge. A 360mm AIO won't significantly outperform a cheaper air cooler. The temperatures right after startup are typical for the device.
Consider reviewing Task Manager to confirm if applications like Discord or Spotify are launching with high CPU usage. If no clues appear, re-examine the AIO setup—remember the LF3 uses an offset mount by default, so a misplaced offset could be the issue, or the protective film might still be intact.

Things seem fine overall, though idle temps are a bit elevated. I’ve started using the TR PE120 on a 7950x3d and it’s working, but it doesn’t really affect things. Your fan curve is what matters most. Full-load temps match expectations, and the Cinebench score stays consistent. Reviewers usually run it on bare Windows, which means you’ll see a couple of percent CPU usage from background apps, lowering the score.
