Hello Guys this is my initial post, please forgive any mistakes.
Following the specifications:
Ryzen 5 3600 (no OC)
Asus ROG B550-F Gaming
16GB DDR4 3200mhz RGB Crucial Ballistix
NZXT Z63 AIO
2 RGB case fans and 2 radiator fans
1 m.2 NVmE SSD (planning to get a 2TB data SSD soon)
My girlfriend gave me an RTX 3070 from EVGA Ultra FTW without telling me.
I’m asking if my PSU can handle this setup or if I should upgrade it. It’s mainly for 1080p gaming since K can’t afford a 1440p monitor right now (I’m a student 😂).
Also, if an PSU upgrade is necessary, I can only do it in two months after finishing my holiday work at the factory. Will running the RTX 3070 during that time harm it?

It seems acceptable to proceed since we evaluated the SP9 500W. The model can handle full load up to 43°C, which suggests it should perform well without modifications. The main concerns mentioned for the 500W version are its lower efficiency, fixed cables, and an 85°C rated main capacitor. Among these, efficiency is the most significant issue. Fixed cables mainly affect appearance, not performance. The main capacitor's rating might be a concern, but as long as the case stays cool and isn't crammed, it should work fine. The 500W unit has a 105°C rating on its main capacitor, which is acceptable. Your 3070 model is rated at 220W, so accounting for potential spikes, it could easily support a 600W power supply.
Thank you for your message. The issue involves a NZXT h510, which hasn’t had any thermal concerns before. There was a problem with the PSU where it would make a sizzling noise when starting up, but after returning it and getting a replacement, everything worked fine. I’m excited to build my GPU next weekend and will keep you updated. Appreciate your support.
No! The System Power 9 600w features its own voltage regulation, but the main side remains double forward. This design isn't adequate for a 3070. Additionally, the overall quality is poor. It only accepts 230v input, has an 85-degree main cap, uses a sleeve bearing fan, and employs 18AWG cables for PCI-e. I wouldn't suggest using this with a 3070.
It's possible, but you should be cautious about this low-quality unit.
The 230V input isn't problematic in itself. The 85C main cap is also not an issue, which I mentioned before. On the 500W unit, all secondary caps are 105C. Double forward could face problems with spikes, but given the available headroom, I believe it should be fine. His gaming power draw should be roughly 300-350W, which is about half of the output. As long as he stays cool, there shouldn't be any real issues.
