I just upgraded from a 5600 to a 5700X3D and put it on my Asrock X370 motherboard, but it’s not functioning well. Fresh Windows installation got stuck in a bootloop, then I reinstalled again and it worked somewhat but crashed every game after 30 to 40 minutes. Here are my details if that helps:
Specs:
5700X3D
Asrock X370 Killer SLI/acX370 Killer SLI/ac
4 x 8GB 3600 MHz DDR4 XPG
Zotac 3080ti AMP HOLO
Corsair CX750M
Three NVMe drives installed (not sure if that matters)
What I’ve tried:
- Multiple fresh Windows installs with new drivers
- Set to -20 on all cores using PBO2
- Tried different RAM speeds (2666, 3200, 3600)
- Every BSOD varied: sometimes RAM issue, other times graphics driver crash, sometimes kernel error.
What is the age of the PSU? Is it the grey or green labeled one?
What BIOS version is appropriate for your motherboard?
Three NVMe drives have been installed (not sure if that's relevant).
Have you reinstalled the OS, and did you clear all drives except the one you're installing?
Regarding the OS, did you reinstall it in offline mode?
Grey label, quite old
7.30, the most recent stable version I found, there were beta releases but I'm unsure if they're worth it
Yes, it works offline and no, I didn't uninstall other SSDs but I'm confident it's set up properly, since I removed the other SSDs to see if just the C drive would still cause issues
Turn off XMP and boot using just two sticks of RAM. Instability with IMC could occur when using four sticks in dual channel at identical speeds. If two sticks suffice, consider lowering the RAM speed from XMP to 3466 or even 3200.
