Many tabs function properly, though some fail to load completely or the entire settings app freezes, leaving no options. I attempted a disk cleanup and a system file check, as well as a Windows update, but the issue persists and has been worsening over the past weeks. I'm currently using Windows 11 version 25H2 with build number 26200.6899, and it was already occurring before the update to 25H2.

I attempted the dism and sfc scans, along with updating Windows. It seems this has been occurring for several weeks now and continues to worsen. I'm running Windows 11 25h2 26200.6899, and it has happened even after an update to 25h2. It appears the operating system is severely damaged and may not be fixable.

What are the complete specifications of your system?
Is a Windows operating system running on a mechanical hard drive available?

i already have a second windows install from not long ago and it works fine
just one version is behind in the bios updates, so i don't think that's the problem
ryzen 5 5500
gtx 1650 super

windows installed on a m.2 nvme drive

Most tabs function properly, though a few either never load or the entire settings app becomes unresponsive. There might be certain error codes, warnings, or informational messages recorded by Windows. Check Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer around the moments before or during the failures for any relevant entries.

the event viewer shows no specific details except for this message: "The program SystemSettings.exe version 10.0.26100.4652 has stopped working with Windows and was closed. To check for more information about the issue, refer to the Problem History in the Security and Maintenance control panel." i reviewed the reliability history but found nothing relevant.

Have you attempted to restart SystemSettings.exe?
Can you locate it in any place such as Task Manager or Process Explorer (Microsoft, free)?
Additional info:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/a...-s...-access-to
https://www.file.net/process/system settings.exe.html
You can also search for other related links and guides.
Carefully review your system to discover more about System Settings.exe or what else you might explore.
Respond accordingly.
Avoid rushing to install fixes or software that promises solutions. No registry changes – only as a final step.
And remember to run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" once more.

I've already attempted to restart it...
I also ran the DISM and SFC scans once more, but still got nothing.
I guess I'll just wait for a random update to fix it.

Just to confirm, you're asking if the SystemSettings option is accessible and how you view it, including its current state. You're also wondering about the reason for its interruption and whether you're aware of Task Scheduler.

The optimal method is to perform an "In Place upgrade" using the identical Windows version. Download the ISO, mount it, and launch setup.exe. This process swaps all system files while keeping other components intact.
