I've noticed some issues with my PC recently. During gameplay, the screen occasionally freezes while I can still hear the game clearly, as if everything is functioning normally. Both monitors freeze, but the main one disappears when turned off. Could this be connected to a driver problem?

PSU: Corsair CX550M
How much time has passed since the PSU was installed?
Is this a driver-related concern?
If yes, run DDU in Safe Mode to eliminate all GPU drivers (Intel, Nvidia, AMD), then restart and install the newest GPU driver from AMD's support site. Open it with an elevated command—Right click the installer > Run as Administrator.
What temperatures are you observing on your system during idle and under load?

The PSU is quite old, maybe around seven years. I used to experience high temperatures in my CPU, but fixing it with an undervolt resolved the issue. Both the CPU and GPU are around 42-45 °C when idle and haven’t exceeded 72 °C during gaming, especially since it’s a very hot area. I think the problem might be related to a driver issue because it started about a week or two ago, which was my first thought.

The image may freeze or the screens might go black. What is happening on the second monitor while you play? Are you showing some monitoring tools there? When the main screen stops working, what do you think is happening? Do you mean turning it off and then back on so both screens function again? How are your monitors connected—HDMI or DP? Are you using multiple outputs from the GPU? Monitors act as output devices and can't send data back to the computer. If turning them off resolves the issue, it's probably a driver problem rather than a software glitch. It could also be a cable or power issue, possibly affecting the monitor directly.

The image just stops moving, it never turns black. The second screen is only used for DS or watching videos while playing games, but it hasn’t caused any issues for me. I don’t use it for monitoring since my CPU cooler has a screen that shows everything clearly.

I handle the problem this way: 1. I’m playing a game 2. Both monitors freeze together 3. I turn off and on the main monitor and both restart normally again.

The main one (144hz) is connected via DP, and the other uses HDMI with two GPU outputs. Does that affect anything? Also, I noticed that when the game crashes and shows a crash message, clicking to close it causes both screens to freeze.
