Is the router not responding?
Work suddenly lost internet connection. Waited a moment then restarted router without success. Also unplugged it, waited about ten minutes, then turned it back on. Only the power LED lights green; no other indicators. Can't access settings from PC—error message says "can't establish a connection." The network uses two PCs connected via cable, one laptop, one printer, and a call center line that's not working. Router is from ISP; I've checked online but found nothing except it might be dead. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edited June 25, 2019 by Fasade
How intricate is your network setup? Do you have a switch in place? Have you verified it's still operational? Did you attempt to link to the router via Wi-Fi? Inspect the coax, fiber, or Ethernet connection on the WAN port. Can you send a ping to your default gateway? If not, and resetting the router didn't resolve the issue, your best next step might be to contact your ISP and inform them of any equipment problems.
The "wall plugs" are actually placed in the concrete floor, with a tiny switch for extra devices like the printer and POS. I attempted to connect wirelessly to the internet, but nothing worked. The gateway didn’t respond and I contacted my ISP, who confirmed the issue and will send a technician. I also wondered what might go wrong if I posted about it here.
This kind of problem is particularly tough when the equipment is managed by an ISP.
