Is the Q16 Rog making a weird noise?
Hi everyone, I recently bought an ASUS G16 and I've had this problem from day one. I'm not super worried about it, just wanted to make sure there isn't coil whine happening. The main thing is that when the phone is on battery power, the noise gets louder or more obvious. Once I plug in the charger, it usually stops or gets much quieter. When I record audio on my phone, it sounds pretty loud because of this, but you can only hear it if you are in a very quiet room. Is this coil whine? It doesn't change how the device works and it's not there 24/7; sometimes it comes up when specific things load or run. Thanks so much! I will check for any BIOS updates on my laptop. Regarding the laptop, does the noise only happen when plugged into a wall outlet? If that is true, please contact your Asus seller via email. This sound could be coil whine if it doesn't get louder or quieter as the CPU uses more power (assuming it's the fan spinning).
Thanks for getting back to me. There are no new BIOS updates waiting. The sound isn't coming from the power cord either; it's just happening even when I'm not plugging anything in.
