Hello! My power supply is a Thermaltake Litepower 650W. I recently ordered a RX 6650 XT, but I am not planning to install it with this PSU as I'm afraid it could be too weak, despite being a "650W" (which I think is more like 550W). Should I wait until I buy a new power supply? Or I could limit the power and framerate to test the new GPU for a while? Never had any issues with this PSU.
I'll list my PC specs:
MOBO: MSI PRO H610M-G
CPU: Intel Core i3-12100
GPU: RX 6650 XT (on its way)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz
PSU: Thermaltake Litepower 650W

The RX 6650 XT consumes relatively little power, around 180W. A 500W power supply is sufficient. The Thermaltake Litepower 650W can manage approximately 530W, delivering about 44A on a 12V rail.

Thermaltake Litepower 650W isn't really a power supply unit. Just go here, scroll down to Tier F, that should give you enough info. No matter which GPU you choose, pairing it with this PSU is risky for your whole system. The PSU is essential, and if it fails, everything connected will be affected. You should invest in a solid, high-quality PSU. When selecting one, efficiency rating matters more than just advertised wattage.

I've been using this PSU for five years with a GTX 1050 Ti. There have been no problems, though the 1050 Ti only uses 75W. I intend to purchase a Seasonic PSU soon. Although the Thermaltake is inexpensive, it has always performed well over the years.

Decide whether to proceed; remember that if the PSU fails, you might face a mess.

In my view, the power supply isn't reliable. This PSU is extremely dangerous and likely to fail catastrophically. I recommend choosing another one, and it would help if you shared your budget so we can provide a suitable recommendation. My initial suggestion would be the MSI MAG A650BN.

This PSU is going to blow up once and it’s going to ruin everything. My friend from class had an old PC with the same PSU, and he couldn’t even power it on (likely because of the PSU:
a) it caused total damage to the parts
b) the PSU failed completely without causing any issues)
He should get a newer one!

Don't even attempt to use it, discard it!
